The first two cases of micron variant of Govit-19 have been identified in the UK

LONDON – Health officials have identified two people affected by the Ômicron variant (B.1.1.529) of Covit-19, UK Health Secretary Sajid Javed has said. According to the English newspaper ‘The Guardian’, two persons suffering from the disorder have already been isolated.

On Thursday, the UK announced a ban on flights from six South African countries in an effort to prevent the virus strain from reaching the country.

A new variant of the corona virus has been identified in South Africa and is of concern to health officials around the world. Named Omigron (B.1.1.529) by the World Health Organization (WHO), this strain appears to be spreading relatively rapidly and already exists in four countries. Mutations are common in corona viruses and they produce new variants. Since the onset of the infection, several strains have emerged, but so far, only four have been the target of concern that could negatively alter the effect of the virus on the body. Omigron is the fifth of them and, according to geneticist Salmo Ruskin, director of the Genetics Laboratory in Curitiba, is the most mutated variant.
