The team highlighted the more than 200 goals scored by the 41-year-old former player who was wearing the São Paulo shirt.
“Luis Fabiano, you helped with the goals and in the fight. And we will always be grateful for that. The third best scorer in our history, with 212 goals, you say goodbye to the field, but your name will continue to resonate in the stands of Morumbi and Khalid at the club”, posted Sao Paulo.
“You stopped at the corner, but we will never stop venerating you. Thank you Fabuloso!” , completed the club, referring to Luis Fabiano’s famous festivities.

On Instagram, Luis Fabiano did a retrospective and stated that he had decided to stop playing professionally due to the pain.
“The time has come. For the past four years, I’ve struggled so much against my body to be able to get back to doing what I love most: playing football. There were many hours of treatment, training, strengthening and surgeries, two. I fought to the end, but this fight didn’t I win it. The pain and conditions we are in, in the midst of an epidemic, have not allowed me to return to the fields the way I had envisioned,” he began.
“But time made me think a lot, and today I see that everything happened the way it should be. I am very proud of the path that I built as a footballer,” continued the former striker.
