The secluded island in England seeks a new ‘king’ to manage the papaya

SAO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) – A small island preparing to find a new manager to manage a dedicated pub. Located off the coast of Cumbria in the north of England, the Isle of Peel covers an area of about 200,000 square meters and is accessible by live or boat guided tours.

The search is expected to begin in January, so the new manager will begin work in April. The candidate will be crowned the “King of Peel” at the beer-bathing ceremony, except for managing the pub, which was without managers after the deal was finalized.

In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, John Murphy, who has been conducting guided tours on the island for more than 40 years, said the job seeker will be in charge for 10 years. “There has to be a lot of commitment and interest in loneliness, peace and quiet. It requires a special personality.”

Murphy says people often come to the island for birthday parties or to drink before camping overnight. “Although I’m sorry, Peel’s views are wonderful. I must have slept soundly or drunk in every part of the island,” he said.

He says he wants to take the job, but the 73-year-old did not allow it. “I absolutely love Peel Island, I like how isolated it is. I like the fact that the borough is an industrial city and this beautiful and isolated island is very close,” he added of the island near the borough.

Plans to secure the future of the site on the southern tip of the Furnace Peninsula were discussed at a meeting of the Barrow Borough Council’s Review and Oversight Committee, according to the BBC’s local Democracy report service.
