The worst thing is that everything indicates that this is not a myth, but in fact it works. Understand what one thing has to do with the other and figure out the best time to fill up and save gas.

What is the best time to fill up and save gas?

First, know that gasoline and ethanol are chemicals and are subject to the natural laws of the planet. Therefore, its volume changes according to temperature, for example. The process of volume fluctuation is called thermal expansion or contraction.

Therefore, if you fill your car in a very hot time, the tendency is to put in less fluid than it should. In other words, in order to save gas, it is always best to try to fill up in the late afternoon, at night, or in the early hours of the morning. This way the fuel will be more compact and you will end up taking more volume home.
