The government organizes Pro-Amazônia Legal and values ​​3 million beneficiaries – 05/03/2022

The announcement came after a meeting with the governor of Roraima, Antonio Denarium (non-partisan), who reported the signing of a decree by Pro-Amazônia Legal, which authorizes funds to compensate for environmental damage caused by the Tucuruí Linhão project, traversing the indigenous Waimiri-Atroari communities.

According to the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), projects to reduce power generation costs will be selected by the program management committee and their goal may be to integrate isolated systems and remote areas into the national integrated system, and to replace generation of electric power distribution agents by obtaining power and electric power from an agent Sale and implementation of supply solutions that include renewable sources or from renewable fuels, among other measures.

According to the ministry, the project will include the implementation of measures that will improve navigation in the Madeira River and the Tocantins River, taking into account the economic and financial benefits and impacts for its users; selection and implementation of projects to structurally reduce electricity generation costs; and allocating resources for the continuity of infrastructure works related to the Tokoroi line, corresponding to the interconnection of the electric grid from Manaus to Boa Vista.
