The foreign ministers of Colombia and Panama visited the Darien forest border, a route for thousands of migrants, this Sunday, ahead of a meeting with the United States to discuss irregular migration.
Ministers Luis Gilberto Murillo from Colombia and Javier Martínez-Acha from Panama “toured the border area of Capurcana and Necogli” to examine the topic “in Cartagena” with the United States “ahead of tomorrow’s trilateral working session”. Migration published the Panamanian presidential palace on the social network X.

Darien is a 575,000-hectare forest that, despite its natural dangers, has become a route for thousands of migrants to the United States, looted, attacked or killed by criminal gangs.
The United States Department of Defense announced today that it will meet with the foreign ministers of Panama and Colombia tomorrow to examine irregular immigration and organized crime affecting the three countries.
