Atletico reported that the players were harassed on Friday by false news that the Brazilian striker would be having an affair with the Argentine’s wife.
Atlético used social media on Friday night (1) to disavow a post he described as “flight, lies and maliciousness” on social media involving midfielder Nacho Fernandez and striker Diego Costa.
Publications and audio recordings posted on social networks stated that Diego Costa is going to have an affair with Nacho’s wife.
The club reported that the athletes had been harassed and that this was fake news, “with the sole aim of trying to destabilize the team, the captain of the Brazilian team and questioning the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey”.
Atletico said it would take steps to identify the culprit.
