The arrest of the Prime Minister of Sudan under house arrest | Globalism

Prime Minister SudanAnd Abdallah Hamdok, is under house arrest by an unknown military group that surrounded his house in the capital, Khartoum, on Monday morning (25), according to Al-Hadath channel. Four other ministers were reportedly arrested.

According to Reuters, the Internet was cut off from Khartoum. A pro-democracy group called on residents to take to the streets to resist a possible coup.

Sudan is currently experiencing political tension with a government composed of civilians and military personnel. Thousands of people have taken to the streets in recent days. A group of protesters defends the civilian government and wants the military to leave power. Another asks a military government to get the country out of the crisis.

Sudanese officials and international leaders warn of the scale of tension in the country, which has already been shaken by the failed coup attempt on September 21.
