In other cases, Direct, Instagram’s messaging area, is hard to reach. The issue also affects some users of Messenger and Workplace Chat, an internal messaging tool for businesses.
The warning reads “The link you clicked may not work, or the page may have been removed”.
On the website DownDetector, which monitors instability on social networks, Instagram received more than 1,200 notifications at around 3:45 pm (GMT). There was a drop to about 350 notices at 5 p.m.

“We are working to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience,” Facebook said.

A month after the global collapse
In the incident reported on October 4, the company claimed that a flaw while changing its settings affected users around the world.
According to Facebook, this situation occurred during a change in a structure that coordinates traffic between its data centers, which created a ripple effect that disrupted connectivity and caused other centers to be affected.
