Accident between a pickup truck and a pickup truck leaves 13 dead in Mato Grosso

An accident between a pickup truck and a pickup truck killed 13 people this morning on the BR-174 highway near the city of Komodoro. Civil police preliminary information indicated that the two cars, which were completely destroyed, collided directly.

According to the Comodoro Municipal Health Department, among the dead were 11 in the truck, which transported patients for dialysis at Do Rim Regional Hospital, in Vilhena (RO), and two in the SW4 truck.

Two people survived, a nursing technician who was in the truck, and a passenger in the truck. They were taken to Hospital de Caceres Regional (MT).

The eight patients who died were routinely treated three times a week at the Hôpital du Régionale. The other dead in the truck were two escorts in addition to the driver.

This afternoon, the municipality of Komodoro published a note on its website stating that there will be three days of official mourning in the city.
