Three months later, Bahia registered for two consecutive days marking more than 3,000 active cases of Covid-19. This Saturday (27), 3,069 people with a positive diagnosis of the disease are still not considered cured, while there were 3,110 on Friday (26). These numbers were last reached on August 28 and 29, when 3,277 and 3,141 active cases were recorded, respectively.
This is a worrying scenario, the state’s health secretary, Theresa Baim, points out, as the more active cases, the higher the chance of the virus spreading. “This is a collaborative disease. To the extent that people do not follow recommendations for mask use, physical distance and, above all, to complete the vaccination schedule, we will have new cases,” he says.
In Bahia, 516 cases of COVID-19 were registered in the past 24 hours (+0.04% growth rate) and 552 recovered (+0.04%). On Saturday (27), the epidemiological bulletin also recorded 5 deaths. Of the 1,258,872 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, 1,228,521 have already been considered recovered, 3,069 are active and 27,282 have confirmed deaths. The data may still suffer changes due to the instability of the Ministry of Health system, as the ministerial database sometimes provided inconsistent or incomplete information.
NS Epidemiological Bulletin It also counts 1,625,493 neglected cases and 254,612 under investigation. These data represent the official notifications collected by the Directorate of Epidemiological Surveillance of Health in Bahia (Divep-BA), together with the municipal surveillance and the databases of the Ministry of Health until 5 pm this Saturday. In Bahia, 52,528 health professionals have been confirmed to have Covid-19. To access the full newsletter, click here or access to business intelligence.
vaccination
Due to the update of the vaccination data submission system, not all municipalities have uploaded information regarding the vaccinated public. In this way, the numbers shown in the vacancy scale correspond only to those collected by some municipalities, giving the impression of a low vaccination coverage.
Another change in standardization of information is that the Janssen vaccine, previously considered a single dose, is now counted as a two-dose vaccine.
The Bahia State Department of Health (CESAP) makes daily contact with the teams in each municipality in order to measure the amount of doses applied.
As of Sunday (21), when we had the last update with 417 municipalities in Bahia, 10,952,306 people had been vaccinated against Coronavirus (Covid-19) with the first dose. This data represents 86.02% of the population aged 12 years and over, with an estimated population of 1,273,254.
