Since the company’s articles of association state that the president must be a director, Luna will be automatically disqualified. And in his place, the president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, entered.

Landim has already been nominated to chair the board of directors, but he will transfer the position to someone else and will be responsible only for the company, because the Petrobras statute does not allow the same executive to chair the company and the board of directors.

The formula is the same as the departure of former state-owned president Roberto Castelo Branco, who left the company last year. Castelo Branco was removed from the list of councilors a month before the assembly and was unable to remain in office.

Bolsonaro was repeating to his aides that he was determined to remove Luna from Petrobras.
