The Brazilian beat the American in the jiu-jitsu class and remains a champion with victory at UFC 269
In the main battle of UFC 269, at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, this Saturday, Charles Do Bronx beat Dustin Poirier in a stunning fashion and retained the Ultimate Lightweight belt.

The first round of combat was one of the best rounds of the year, as the two exchanged punches and combinations. Standing, it was clear that Poirier had the upper hand in the first round.
In the second round, the Du Bronx took the fight to the ground, tapping into the Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist and giving Powareer the job, who had been at the bottom the whole time.
At the start of the third round, Charles de Bronx climbed onto Poirier’s back and introduced the American with a naked rear choke.
Thus Charles expands his UFC record with his 18th win by surrendering and retains the lightweight belt on his first attempt at defense.
Once again the Brazilian has silenced the mixed martial arts world. That’s because the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Michael Chandler have said publicly that they believe Burrier will win the battle.
In betting, Poirier was also the favourite.
