With no design novelties, the 2022 Hyundai HB20 line brings changes in versions: the 1.0 turbo engine replaces the naturally aspirated 1.6 throughout the range. With that said, that thruster can now come attached to a manual gearbox. Furthermore, the top-of-the-line configurations are now Platinum and Platinum Plus, while Diamond and Vision are no longer offered.

The HB20 2022’s 1.0 turbo engine was called by Hyundai TGDI, in reference to the direct injection system. It produces 120 hp of power at 6000 rpm and 17.5 kg/m of torque starting at 1500 rpm, with both gasoline and ethanol. Previously only associated with an automatic transmission, it can now be paired with a manual gearbox, also with a six-speed. However, only in the platinum version.

In turn, the 1.6 engine continues, from now on, to be available only on the HB20X and Creta Action models. It should be noted that in the case of Crete, only this configuration retained the old chassis: The new generation of SUV replaced the old one with the 1.0 TGDI engine.

In the new Platinum configuration, the Hyundai HB20 2022 brings, among the safety elements, four airbags (two in the front and two on the side), traction and stability controls and a slope-start assist.

Concerning the comfort elements, there are automatic headlights and power windows on all four doors with functions one touch Anti-crush and key actuation, cam and reversing sensors, alarm and 15-inch wheels. The version with automatic transmission also offers a head-up switch with push-button start of the engine.

In contrast, the Platinum Plus version of the Hyundai HB20 2022 adds warning systems, independent braking and lane change warning, as well as leather seats (brown on the hatch, light gray in the sedan), headlights with a projector and LED signature and front fog lights.
