Corinthians used their social networks on Monday afternoon in an important position. The club offered its condolences and mourned the death of Antonia Monroe Mancini, the mother of coach Wagner Mancini.
Antonia died in the interior of Sao Paulo, in Ribeirão Preto, on Monday morning. The cause of death has not been revealed, but the coach’s mother has been in hospital since last Saturday, the fourth.
“Corinthians mourns the passing of Antonia Monroe Mancini, mother of coach Wagner Mancini. We wish family and friends much strength in this moment of grief and sorrow,” says the Corinthians website. See the post below.
Mancini traveled with the Grêmio delegation to Sao Paulo, where he faced Corinthians last Sunday. After the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, the coach went indoors and is supposed to play again only in the South next Tuesday.
Mancini had recently spent time in Corinthians, where he exchanged opinions. The coach helped the team escape from the bottom of the Brazil table, but later saw his work stagnated and became unsustainable. In all, there were 45 matches split between 20 victories, 13 draws and 12 defeats.
