Curitiba gets a new SUS hospital that promises 7,000 consultations per month

Mayor Rafael Greca received, on Friday (29), ophthalmologist Carlos Augusto Moreira Jr., of the Hospital de Olos do Parana, and Federal Deputy Luciano Duce. Accompanied by ophthalmologists Carlos Augusto Moreira Neto (son of Moreira Jr.) and Ricardo Duce (son of Luciano), they handed over the invitation to the mayor for the inauguration of the new complex of the Hospital de Olhos de Parana, dedicated to the exclusive care of the hospital. The new complex will open next Friday (5) and will include four operating rooms and will attend an average of seven thousand consultations and about a thousand surgeries per month.

Curitiba will get a new and large Hospital de Olos, with a state-of-the-art surgical center and state-of-the-art laboratory. The new complex will operate alongside the more traditional solar energy of the Moreira family and the good news is that the service will be exclusive by SUS”, the mayor celebrates. The complex is located on Rua Visconde de Nacar, 810, in the center.

Founded in 1975, Hospital de Olhos de Parana is a reference in ophthalmology care.

“It is a win-win for Curitiba, which will have a restored historical heritage, and for the residents who will receive high-level care from the SUS,” explained Dr. Moreira Jr. Deputy Mayor Eduardo Pimentel also participated in the meeting.

Moreira Jr. also said that in 2022 Curitiba will host the Brazilian Congress of Ophthalmology, from September 7-10. Six thousand doctors are expected to attend the event. “It is the first personal conference after the pandemic. We will receive our friends in this beautiful city that the whole of Brazil would like to visit,” says the doctor.
