Anyone who visits the social networks of Roman Fedortsov, 39, a Russian fisherman living in Murmansk, is already accustomed to seeing sea creatures of strange shapes, but does not even imagine finding a deep fish that is very similar to a snack of fast food.
In early November, Fedortsov published a photo of a fish that immediately received the name “X-burger fish”. Netizens gave other nicknames: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chicken Sandwich.
The so-called abyssal creatures are represented by strange species of fish with very peculiar characteristics and different from what we are accustomed to seeing. There are many other abyssal species, including crustaceans, jellyfish, and starfish. In particular, the ‘X-Burger fish’ did not have the species identified by the fisherman.
Fedortsov hunts most creatures in the seas of Norway, Barents (northern Russia) and the Atlantic Ocean. Unlike many followers, he does not believe that creatures are ugly.
He told the Daily Mail: “All fish are beautiful in their own way. I can’t say they are ‘scary’ or ‘ugly’. People are very interested in unusual sea creatures.”
Watch the other strange creatures recorded by the Russian, including what he calls “Hat Crab”:
“Gamers. Unfortunate Twitter teachers. Zombie pioneers. Internet fans. Hardcore thinkers.”
