Following Boris Johnson’s surprise visit to Kiev, the UK announced the export of military equipment to Ukraine.

The G7 (the group that unites the seven richest nations in the world, including Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy and Japan) was the first leader to visit the country during the conflict.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU diplomat Josep Borrell were in Ukraine last Friday. Meanwhile, Austrian President Carl Nehmmer met with Zhelensky this Saturday.

After the meeting, Boris Johnson said in a statement that “Ukraine has achieved and repelled Russian forces from the gates of Kiev, one of the greatest military achievements of the 21st century.”

“Putin’s invincible goals are being thwarted by the determined leadership of President Zhelensky and the invincible bravery and courage of the Ukrainian people,” he continued.

“I made it clear today that the UK stands with them unconditionally [ucranianos] In this fight, we owe a long time. We will accelerate our military and financial assistance and unite the global alliance to end this tragedy and help Ukraine live and prosper as a free and sovereign nation. “

Along with Zhelensky, the Prime Minister added, “The Ukrainians have shown the courage of a lion, but you, Volodymyr, have raised the roar of that lion.”

Johnson also stressed that the United Kingdom and other pro-Ukrainian countries will continue to tighten sanctions against Moscow, including the consumption of Russia’s oil and its derivatives.

“In the last few hours, I have had the opportunity to learn a little about your wonderful country.

A spokesman for the British government said, “The Prime Minister went to Ukraine to meet with President Zhelensky to express his solidarity with the people of Ukraine.”

In a Facebook post, Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine’s vice president, announced that “the UK is at the forefront of supporting Ukraine’s security.

Zelensky called on the international community to demand an explanation from Russian forces for Friday’s missile attack on a train station in the town of Kramatorsk, which was packed with women and children. The Kremlin has denied responsibility for the attack.

Johnson’s visit to Kiev comes a day after Britain announced it would send 100 100 million worth of weapons to Ukraine.

At the time, the Prime Minister confirmed at a press conference on Downing Street, the Prime Minister’s official residence, that exports of military equipment, including StarStreck anti-aircraft missiles and 800 anti-tank missiles.

The announcement comes as Moscow withdraws its troops from Kiev and prepares for a new Russian offensive in the east of the country, following calls for more weapons from Ukraine.
