Joe Garcia, Irma Garcia’s husband, one of two teachers murdered in A Texas High School shootingdied on Thursday (26th) after suffering a heart attack, his family and the local press reported.
One of the teacher’s nephews, John Martinez, announced on Twitter that Garcia had died “of grief.” He noted that his uncles fell in love when they were in high school. They leave four children – aged 23, 19, 15 and 13.
Houston-based Fox26 television reported, based on family members, that Joe Garcia died of a heart attack.
Irma Garcia is one of the two teachers killed in the shooting that took place last Tuesday (24) in the city of Ovaldi, in which 19 children were also killed.
The teacher worked for 23 years at Robb Primary School, where the massacre occurred. One of the couple’s sons, Christian Garcia, told NBC News that she used her body to protect the students from the shootings.
Attacker Salvador Ramos, 18, entered the school with a rifle and opened fire inside a room, killing 21 people, before police shot and killed them.
