The Ministry of Health in Vitoria (CMOS), announced, Tuesday (28), the suspension of elective medical consultations in basic health units, and the decision was taken in consideration of the significant increase in patients with flu-like symptoms, according to the folder.

According to Simos, the suspension of consultations applies to those that were scheduled for Wednesday (29), Thursday (30) and Friday (31). However, antenatal care will be maintained only for pregnant women.

This Monday (27), in São Pedro, from 6:30 am to 7 pm, 537 consultations were made. In Praia do Suá PA, from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., 410 calls were made.

The secretariat stated that due to the influenza pandemic and the COVID-19 pandemic, health units will focus staff on caring for patients with respiratory symptoms.

The Capital City has informed that it has suspended the elective point on Friday (31) to ensure the care and due attention of citizens at such a delicate moment in the influenza pandemic and in the face of community transmission of the new variant of the coronavirus.

According to the department, the measure was adopted to improve the flow of care for people with flu-like symptoms in the municipal health network and due to increased demand in the two emergency services in Vitoria.
