NefroQuality, a service in nephrology and renal replacement therapy, run by nephrologist Dr. Jose Lascano Contreras, has been providing assistance to patients with kidney disease (with kidney disease and the need for renal replacement support – dialysis) at HNSA since August 2021.
Starting on Wednesday (08), Nossa Senhora Aparecida Hospital will have two Fresenius branded dialysis machines, the model 4008S V10, along with two new portable reverse osmosis brand Ipabras, which arose from a partnership between the hospital and NefroQuality. This will allow the hospital to offer dialysis treatment to clinical patients.
The equipment allows for hemodialysis and traditional isolated ultrafiltration, for up to 4 hours and is performed in stable patients who need to remove a small amount of fluid; Hemodialysis and isolated ultrafiltration for prolonged periods of 6, 8 and 12 hours are performed in patients who are unstable or require removal of large amounts of fluid.
Until now, patients undergoing treatment have had to travel to access this type of care, which will no longer be necessary.
It is noteworthy that this service is intended only for clinical patients at Hospital Nossa Senhora Aparecida. Other patients in the area undergoing treatment should continue care in the usual settings.
Dr. José Lascano commented, “Keeping the patient within the hospital facilities is essential for his safety. We guarantee a comprehensive treatment regarding all problems that may occur with the patient.”
“It is also important to emphasize that this method will be done 24 hours a day, from Monday to Monday. Therefore, at any time, the patient can receive bedside care. We are happy, because the real beneficiary is the patient himself,” concluded nurse Rosana Bruno. .
