Reuters – Petrobras said, on Friday, that it had discovered a new accumulation of oil in the southern part of the Campos Basin, in a well in the Alto de Cabo Frio Central region, according to a statement.
The 1-BRSA-1383A-RJS well (Alto de Cabo Frio Central Noroeste) is located 230 kilometers from the city of Rio de Janeiro, at a water depth of 1833 meters.
According to the state-owned company, the oil tolerance interval was verified by electrical profiles and oil samples, which will later be determined by laboratory analyzes.
Petrobras is the operator of the block and owns 50% of the shares. The remaining 50% belongs to its partner in assets BP Energy do Brasil.
