Prevent Senior stunned the trend of the ANS (National Supplementary Health Agency) by suspending sales of 27 health plans. According to the operator’s CEO, Fernando Barrillo, the decision has a purpose. “We will focus our efforts on serving 550,000 beneficiaries because we have been victims of the political system,” says the businessman, who faces two CPI indicators and a marathon of inspections.
Forecasts are that in 2022 Prevent will increase its portfolio by 20%. “If we had a new wave of the pandemic, that growth would be even greater,” Barillo says.
Only Prevent Senior will hold the Premium plan for sale, valid throughout Brazil, with an average value of 1,848 reais. The company’s move creates a problem for ANS in a time of crisis, as clients of the cheapest plans on the market, with portability and exemption from grace periods, had Prevent Senior as an option. This is what happened, for example, with a portfolio of 490,000 lives of individual plans that Amell put up for sale on the market.
