More than 1 million units of the PlayStation 5 consoles have already been sold in the UK.
Figures shared by Gfk reached this number in August and Sony’s latest console surpassed this number at 39 weeks, representing a new record.
Like Japan, the PS5 took less time to surpass the first million units sold in the UK. In this case, the difference is 3 weeks. According to GI.biz’s Chris Trink, this was made possible by Sony’s efforts to build stocks over the summer.
As he says, PS5 sales in July were below PS4 sales in their respective routes, but in August things changed.
With this, the PS5 achieved a higher sales speed than the previous console.
In August, PS5 surpassed 1m sales in the UK. It did this 3 weeks faster than the PS4. Until July, the PS4 was ahead of the PS5, so stock supply was higher in the summer.
