Alfred Molina returns as the evil octopus doctor
At the end of the trailer above, you can see Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, who is back in the role 17 years after Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 (2004). Molina himself had already confirmed his participation in Spider-Man: Sem Volta Para Casa.
In the new film, Molina is rejuvenated with the same technology that Marvel Studios used with Robert Downey Jr. in Civil War (2016) and Samuel L. Jackson in Captain Marvel (2019).
Molina also said that Spider-Man 3 (No Return Home) will continue the story of Otto Octavius from where he left off in Spider-Man 2, when the villain drowns in the river after clashing with the hero and awakens his good side, who has avoided even greater destruction of the city.
Multiverse confirmed!
After much speculation, the multiverse is finally part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
At the end of Spider-Man: Away from Home (2019), Mysterio reveals Peter Parker’s secret identity to the entire world. So, Peter searches for Doctor Strange to undo what happened – however, he ends up casting the wrong spell and causing the multiverse.
“We’ve interfered with space-time stability,” Stephen Strange says in the trailer. “The multiverse is a concept that we know, eerily, quite a bit.”
Proof of Green Goblin, Electro and Sandman
Although not explicitly shown, the trailer does provide evidence of Duende Verde, Electro and Homem-Seia being involved.
