The state’s governor, Renato Casagrande, has announced an allowance of up to R$3,000 for state health workers. This information was revealed in a live broadcast, on government social networking sites, this afternoon, Tuesday (7). Now, the bill goes for approval in the Legislative Assembly of Espirito Santo.

If approved, the benefit, called the “Covid Bonus”, will be awarded to health workers who worked in government hospitals during the pandemic period between April 2020 and September 2021.

According to Casagrande, anyone who worked from six months to 12 months, during that period, will receive an allowance of two thousand Brazilian reais. But whoever has worked for 12 months or more will receive R$3,000.

The governor also explained that this bonus was only possible due to Supplementary Law No. 173, which prohibits any kind of bonus or modification to any server, except for health and assistance professionals.

“That is why I am making the decision, as governor of the state, to award a remuneration to health workers in recognition of the work they do at this time of pandemic. Those who are entitled to R$2,000 benefits are civilian servants who have worked from 6 months to 12 months. months, between April 2020 and September 2021. Those who have worked for more than 12 months will receive R$3,000, ”explained the governor.

At the end of the broadcast, Casagrande stated that this is a way for the government to thank the professionals for their work during this period. “This is a manifestation of the State Government’s gratitude for the extraordinary work done by the health workers. Now, this text is being sent to the Assembly, and I am sure, as it always does, with sensitivity, it will vote on it.”
