AUK tax authorities have stepped up efforts to recover about 1. 1.1 billion, the equivalent of fraudulent or misappropriated support payments, following the launch of tens of thousands of lawsuits against companies.
The UK has made more than 26,500 interventions in the past eight months as HM Revenue and Customs increased the number of investigations into fraudulent epidemic support claims.
According to The Guardian, part of the investigation is a multi-million dollar leave scheme that closed at the end of September after subsidizing the wages of about 9 million workers in the UK.
The search will look at income support for self-employed workers and discounts for ‘help-aid’ restaurants approved by thousands of hospitality companies across the UK in August.
