The United Kingdom will provide 80 km of rocket launchers to Ukraine to counter Russian attacks, the Defense Ministry announced today.
The ministry said the M270 MLRS systems would “significantly increase the capability of Ukrainian forces”. The decision was made “in close coordination” with Washington, which last week announced the delivery of Himmers equipment with a range of 80 km, meaning that many rocket launchers are fitted to light armored vehicles.
Ukrainians have been listening to rocket launchers for some time, installing their batteries farther away from the front when hitting Russian positions. But, US President, Joe BidenRussia has refused to supply Ukraine with long-range rocket missile systems that could reach Russia, avoiding being seen as a paramilitary force.
“Ukraine can win if the international community maintains its support,” argued British Defense Minister Ben Wallace. “Russia’s strategy is changing, and so is our support.” .
UK military support for Ukraine is now US $ 937 million.
