The United Kingdom will host the fourth meeting of the European Political Community (CPE) this Thursday (18), where around 50 leaders will discuss issues such as Ukraine, immigration, the defense of democracy and energy.
Arriving at the summit in Oxford, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General announced that the coalition’s command to support Ukraine would take effect in September.
With the security issue on the table, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes a battlefield solution is unlikely.
The United Kingdom expressed its desire to use the meeting as a platform to press for continued international military and financial aid to Ukraine to defend itself from the current war with Russia, which began with the invasion of Ukrainian territory by Russian troops. February 2022.

Its aim is to promote cooperation on the continent on topics of common interest, involving not only the 27 member states of the European Union (EU), but also other countries in the region.
Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro did not attend for health reasons, as did Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and European Commission President Ursula van der Leyen.

This is the fourth meeting of the CPE, scheduled for next November in Budapest.
