On Wednesday (25th), Unimed Recife will be promoting, free of charge, the 1st Palliative Care Workshop, which will take place in person in Mongradon Hall, located in Tower 02 of the Unimed Recife Hospital Complex, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Bringing together specialists in the fields of palliative medicine, psychologists, and other health professionals, the purpose of the event is to inform this assistance initiative.
Palliative care is approaches that can improve the quality of life of patients and their families in situations that threaten the continuity of life, by adopting methods of prevention and alleviation of suffering.
According to psychologist Andre Daconte, one of the organizers of the event, thematic lectures will be held on this topic, with the aim of targeting the multidisciplinary team taking care of this care, and soon after, there will be an opening aimed at discussing issues related to the topic.
The meeting will also help relevant health professionals – such as nurses, dietitians and speech therapists – to understand when and how they should use these types of care.
