US Democratic lawmakers want to stop sending security resources to Brazil if the military interferes in the October elections.

According to the Uol portal, an amendment to the United States’ Annual Defense Budget (NDAA) was proposed to require the US government to investigate whether Brazil’s armed forces interfered in the election.

According to Folha de São Paulo, possible interference in the vote count, manipulation to change the result and participation in false campaigns questioning the electoral system and results through protests, social networks or other means of communication will be investigated..

If any points are verified, Brazil could be built on Section 7008, which ends security assistance from the United States to countries with coups or military attacks on democracies.
