The relaxation was approved by the US government after strong pressure from airlines and other companies in the tourism industry.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) understands that science and data indicate that pre-export testing is no longer required. The official said the CDC would review the decision within 90 days.

Robert Isom, chief executive of American Airlines, told a conference last week that test requirements were “meaningless” and could affect leisure and business travel.
The airline said many Americans did not travel internationally due to positive testing and concerns that they would be stranded abroad.
Isom said 75% of the countries Americans visit do not have testing requirements.
“The CDC will review this decision within 90 days, and as with other policies, the CDC will continue to review it,” a senior U.S. government official said.
