Zelensky invites Chinese and US presidents to peace conference

A meeting in Switzerland will discuss solutions to the Ukraine war, which will mark 27 months on May 24; Russia will not participate

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden to attend a summit in Switzerland this Sunday (May 26, 2024). Its purpose is to hold peace talks in Ukraine.

In a video recorded in English and posted on his profile X (ex-Twitter), the Ukrainian leader appears with trash in the background. Zelensky says the message is for all heads of state who have yet to confirm their presence at the conference, despite mentioning the presidents of China and the United States by name.

“I appeal to the world leaders – President Biden, the President of the United States, and President Xi, the President of China – who are still standing by the global efforts of the World Peace Conference. Show your leadership in promoting peace. Real peace is not just a pause between attacks.Zelensky said.

In the news, Ukraine’s president also attacked the Russians. According to Zelensky, Russia is led by men “Happiness to Burn” and in destroying national boundaries through war.

A meeting to discuss a resolution to the European conflict will be held in Lucerne on June 15 and 16. Switzerland invited 160 delegates, but not Russia. As for the host country, Moscow is not interested in participating. In the video, Zelensky says that 80 countries have already confirmed their presence.
